Proposal of new principle for high-order aspherical machining by CNC tangent method

Abstract:

The main factors which affect the annulus corrugation error in the midst of the aspherical turning process were specifically analyzed.In addition,a novel principle for the high-order aspherical machining process was proposed.The newly developed principle can make the turning tool exactly move along the tangent direction of the aspherical track which already designed in advance.As a result,the annulus corrugation error can be significantly reduced or eliminated,and the high-accuracy,continuous and smooth optical surface was obtained,so the machining efficiency is improved and the cost is largely reduced.
