High performance permanent magnet motor drives for electric vehicles

Abstract:

Some key technologies,including the high power density,high efficiency,low cost inverter,and hybrid excitation type permanent magnet motor with high efficiency in full-speed range,and fully digital control system for permanent magnet motors were described.The motor drive systems with the technologies mentioned above have larger power density,higher efficiency and are more reliable and manufacturability than conventional ones.Finally,high power density permanent magnet motor drive systems are developed based on the studies.The drive system is used in LF620 electric police car and has served in the 2010 Shanghai World Expo.
