Elastic coupling characteristic of unsymmetrical rubber bushings of rear suspension

The elastic coupling characteristics of the unsymmetrical rubber bushing in the axial and symmetrical radial directions, affect the handling stability of the vehicle. The forcedisplacement characteristics of an unsymmetrical rubber bushing were measured on a press test rig with a customized fixture. The elastic coupling characteristics were expressed by a threedirection coupling springdamping system based on the test data, and its simulation was performed with an ADAMS/View virtual vehicle prototype model. Compared with the traditional rubber bushing, the unsymmetrical rubber bushing gives rise to a followup steering, enhances the handling stability of the vehicle.

Control algorithm for steerbywire system with ideal steering ratio

Based on a 29DOF vehicle dynamic model, a steadystate control strategy for the ideal steering ratio was introduced to keep the vehicle steering gain constant and make the steering characteristic of the steerbywire system not change with the vehicle speed and the steering angle; A stability control algorithm was proposed to correct the steering angle dynamically based on the vehicle state feedback. The results of the simulation and the test in a driving simulator showed that the introduced strategy does keep the vehicle steering gain constant to reduce the driver burden, allowing the unskilled driver to steer the vehicle. The proposed stability control algorithm based on the vehicle state feedback improves effectively the vehicle stability.

Numerical simulation on flow field around pickup trucks

CFD was used to simulate flow field around a generic pickup truck. The surface pressure distributions, the wake velocity distribution of the special profiles and the flow structures were obtained. The result of numerical simulation tallies with the result of wind tunnel experimental investigation. The simulation results indicate that the wake of the pickup truck is formed of two regions, one above the truck bed, and the other behind the tailgate. CFD simulations have been done for the geometry changes of the pickup tuck. The drag coefficient variations have the same trends with the experiment results of the real pickup trucks. The effects of aerodynamic drag reduction by tailgate have been conformed. It was found that it has an accurate result with CFD to simulate the flow field around pickup trucks.

The Vmode was introduced and its development processes were described. An integrative electronic control unit development platform was built using CHEV2004 HEV simulation software and hybrid electric vehicle test bench based on the Vmode to develop a hybrid control unit(HCU) for the Jiefang brand CA6110 HEV hybrid electric city bus. The test results of the HCU developed by the built platform showed that the development of the HCU by the developed platform based on the Vmode is efficient and reliable.
