Abstract: In consideration of a specified average shortage-level of the classical newsboy problem-in which both the purchase timing and order quantity are simultaneously considered, We have built up the extended newsboy model of onetime ordering and seasonal selling, worked out the corresponding optima lsolution, analyzed the sensitivity of the optimal solution.
