Abstract: By using the special vector field in space forms and the basic formulas on submanifolds, the almost Yamabe solitons on Euclidean space were extended to space forms, we obtained a necessary and sufficient condition for the submanifolds in space forms to be the almost Yamabe solitons, and that any almost Yamabe solitons on a hypersurface in space forms were totally umblical.
