Abstract: Based on a new modified Gustafson-Schmitt type fixed point theorem, the author give sufficient conditions for the existence of radial solutions to the Dirichlet boundary value problem of the k-Hessian equation when the nonlinear term satisfies the appropriate growth condition only at u=0.
