Weighted mobile TTOA algorithm for UWB precision positioning

Abstract:

A weighted mobile triangle time of arrival algorithm (WMTTOA) for positioning was proposed for ultrawide band (UWB) communication system. The proposed algorithm which has an analytical solution and one reference node (RN) to determine the location of the mobile station (MS) can overcome the non-convergence caused by the inaccurate initial location estimation of the MS. Simulation results showed that the WMTTOA algorithm can mitigate the effect of the nonlineofsight propagation on the positioning precision and achieve more accurate precision than the traditional direct calculation method (DIRECT). The complexity of the WMTTOA algorithm is lower than that of DIRECT.
