Diaphanous mechanism and damage threshold of liquid crystal mask by nslaser penetration

Abstract:

A measuring system to detect the damage threshold of the liquid crystal(LC) as the laser penetrates the LC was built and its two schemes were designed. The diaphanous mechanism of the LC mask by laser penetration, the changing process of the LC molecules and the threshold of the LC by laser penetration were studied. The results show that the laser spatial energy distribution can be well adjusted by controlling LC. The transmission rate of the laser penetrating LC depends on the polarizing direction of the incident laser. The damage threshold of the energy density of the laser penetrating LC is 1.27~1.42 J/cm2.
