Fuzzy elementfree Galerkin method for the plane with crack

Abstract:

Based on the fuzzy mathematics, elementfree Galerkin method (EFGM) was employed to deduce FEFGM equilibrium equations, and the algebraic properties of interval number was used to solve the FEFGM equilibrium equations. By the procedure, the possibility distributions of responses of fuzzy structures can be generated in terms of the membership functions of the input fuzzy numbers. FEFGM was used to compute the displacement fields of crack tips and direct displacement method was used to compute the stress intensity factors. Numerical examples demonstrate the efficiency and accuracy of the proposed method on calculating the stress intensity factors.
