Virtual source method to improve the reconstruction accuracy of acoustic pressure fields using acoustic holography

Abstract:

The virtual source method was proposed to improve the reconstruction accuracy of acoustic pressure fields. Sound field of the sound source surface is reconstructed by acoustic holography to determine the initial location of the sound source. The source is virtualized and the ideal location is searched using nonlinear damped least squares to determine the reconstruction result of the sound field. This method will strip the influence factors of the reconstruction accuracy and avoid the errors from observation data and other errors origin. The simulation validation and experimental results show that the reconstruction error is only 8.6%, which are better than existing methods significantly. The reconstruction accuracy of the sound field is improved effectively.
