Abstract:

Objective To study the awareness,treatment and control rates of hypertension in the  adult residents in Jilin province,and to provide scientific basis for  prevention and control of hypertension.Methods A random cluster sampling survey was taken in   20 437 people from 9 cities and 32areas in Jilin province in 2012.A cross-sectional study with questionnaire interview and physical examination were carried out for every participant.After being weighted according to complex sampling scheme and post-stratification Rao-Scott test which based on sampling design was used to compare the awareness,treatment and control ratesof hypertension between  people with different demographic characteristics.Results After being weighted,the weighted rates of awareness,treatment and control of hypertension of the adult residents in Jilin province were 44.1%,41.3% and 7.9%,respectively. The weighted rates of awareness,treatment and control of hypertension  in the male subjects were lower than those in the female subjects(P<0.001).The rates of awareness and treatment of hypertesion  in people aged 18-24 years were 9.6% and 9.5%,respectively,which  were the lowest.There  weighted rates of awareness and treatment of hypertension  in the people with high  education level was lower than those in  the people with low education level (P<0.05).The weighted rates of awareness,treatment and control of hypertension  in the people with positive hypertension family history were higher than those in the people with  negative hypertension family history(P<0.001).The weighted rates of awareness and treatment  of hypertension  in  rural  areas were higher than those in urban areas(P<0.05)，but there was no significant difference in the control rate between rural and urban areas(P>0.05).Conclusion The weighted rates of awareness and treatment   of hypertension of the adult residents in Jilin province are lower than the average of country in 2004-2005,but the rate of control is higher than the average of country;because the rate of awareness of hypertension in young men is low,it is important to improve the prevention and control of hypertension education level among young men.
