Abstract:

Batch adsorption experiments were carried out for the kinetics and equilibrium of Chlorobenzene(CB) in aqueous solutions using a β-cyclodextrin cross-linked polymer(β-CDP) as adsorbent, and the regeneration capacity of β-CDP. The removal efficiency and the stability of β-CDP treating Chlorobenzene under continuous operating conditions were simulated. Adsorption data were fitted using the pseudo-first-order, pseudo-second-order kinetic equations, Langmuir and Freundlich model. It was found that the adsorption kinetics followed a pseudo-second-order model for CB concentration range studied in the present work, suggesting that the rate-limiting step may be chemisorption. The adsorption data fit the Langmuir isotherm model and the maximum adsorption capacity of CB at 15, 25, 35℃ were 23.36, 28.17, 27.85 mg/g, respectively.
