A Finite Element Equation with Plane Strain Mindlin Curved Line Element and Its Application in Section Analysis

Abstract:

Mindlin curved line element with bending effect is employed and elasto-plastic U.L.finite element formulation under plane strain condition is developed.The theory is applied to section analysis in sheet metal forming.Two benchmark test problems are calculated and the results are compared with experimental ones.Fine agreement is obtained.
