Section Analysis Element for Quick Simulation of Complex Stamping Process

Abstract:

Using elasto-plastic large deformation FEM based on finite deformation virtual power-rate, a kind of two-node plane-strain shell element model for section analysis is constructed. The section line of the tool is described by NURBS for contact judgement, whose aims is to get ideal result of blank sheet stamping simulation quickly. With an oil pan used in car as an example, the result of section analysis is compared with the results of 3D analysis and experiment. The feasibility and efficiency of the section analysis technology is verified.
