Connection management strategy in media oriented systems transport network

Abstract: In order to fit the dynamic variation of the Media Oriented Systems Transport (MOST) network environment, a connection management strategy is proposed based on MOST network management. This strategy updates the central registry dynamically and supervises the source ports and the destination ports of the streaming data in the MOST network. Moreover, it implements the establishing, releasing and switching manipulations of the multi-synchronous channel connection. With the functional verification using the OptpLyzer, a network analyser for MOST, it is proved that this strategy improves the usage of MOST bandwidth effectively. The experimental platform is a ring network of MOST50.
