Design of efficient orthogonal multiband PSWF pulse set based on eigenvector

Abstract: The eigenvectors of cross-correlation matrix for Prolate Spheroidal Wave Function (PSWF) pulse set was used as the weighting factors, and the original PSWF pulses were added by the factors to generate new orthogonal PSWF pulse set. Simulation results show that the orthogonality performance of the proposed method breaks through the restriction on the pulse number by traditional Gram-Schmidt method. The high energy concentration and Bit Error Rate (BER) performance of the PSWF pulse set are maintained after orthogonalization process. Meanwhile, the method is easy and fast for hardware implementation.
