Abstract: Catalytic wet air oxidation(CWAO) was employed to reduce the organi c compounds in the landfill leachate and the influence of oxidant (characterized by oxygen partial pressure) on the degradation was investigated. The results in dicate that the oxidant is an important factor in treating leachate by CWAO and decomposition rate of the organic pollutants increases with the rise of oxygen partial pressure, but the influ ence of oxidant on the decomposition rate decreases gradually with the incre ase of oxygen partial pressure. The dynamics course of the organic compounds degradation could be described with the Allometric equation(Y=aXb) , and the mechanisms analyses were given.
