Abstract:
Comb methyl allyl polyethenoxy etherpolymethyl acrylate (HPEG/PMA) was synthesized with atom transfer radical polymerization (ATRP). FT-IR and 1H NMR were used to identify the structure of HPEG/PMA. The results show that we successfully synthesized comblike HPEG/PMA. Gel permeation chromatography (GPC) was used to characterize the molecular weight and molecular weight distribution. The molecular weight was 7.7×103 and molecular weight distribution was 1.11. It indicates that the synthesis of HPEG/PAA with ATRP has good controllability. The HPEG/PMA was hydrolyzed with NaOH V(ethanol)∶V(H2O)=1 solution to get HPEG/PAA.
