Preparation and Performance of Cathode Materials of La0.7Sr0.3Co1-xCuxO3-δ for IT-SOFC

Abstract: The powders of cathode material La0.7Sr0.3Co1-xCuxO3-δ for intermediate temperature solid oxide fuel cell(IT-SOFC)were prepared with the solid reaction method.The crystal structure,high temperature conductivity and thermal expansion curve of these samples were characteristiced and a selected sample was tested in the single cell.The results show that the thermal expansion coefficients of (La,Sr)CoO3 are decreased by Cu doping,while the conductivity at x= 0.05 is higher than that of the one without Cu.A single fuel cell with La0.7Sr0.3Co0.95Cu 0.05O 3-δ as the cathode and Ce0.8Sm0.2O1.9 as the electrolyte was tested,the maximum current density was 511mA/cm2,and the maximum power density was 0.106W/cm2 at 850℃.
