Abstract: In this paper, the expression of ground state energy in metallic hydrogen system is given, the possible structure of metallic hydrogen as well as the mechanical and the thermal properties of this matter is investigated. The calculation shows metallic hydorgen with an fcc structure is on the favorable energy situation with a lattice constant a=0.226 324 nm (zero pressure condition). Besides, the weak and strong coupling superconductivities of metallic hydrogen (fcc structure) are explored, an electron-phonon coupling constant λ=1.806 is obtained, and critical temperature Tc is 179.126 K.(using e=AKh-D=m=1 unit)

Key words: metallic hydrogen, ground state, superconductivity
