Abstract: The short-wavelength near-infrared spectroscopy and multivariate calibration were used for the rapid and accurate determination of etchanol in wines. Pure ethanol/water and ethanol/water mixtures were studied to estabilsh the spectral features. The analysis of the second-derivative difference spectrum da ta was accomplished with multilinear regression(MLR) and principal component reg ression(PCR). This method has the advantage of rapid analysis.
