Abstract: A dry gel was prepared from Al(NO3)3·9H2O, (CH2)6N4 and SiC powder with a particle size of 30 nm via the sol-gel processing. Al2O3-SiC ceramic nanocomposites were obtained from the dry gel by means of vacuum heat-pressing technique. X-ray diffraction, scan electron microscopy and hardness experiment were used to analyze the structure, morphology, grain size and hardness of the Al2O3-SiC nanosized ceramic composites with different contents of SiC particles sintered at different temperatures.
