Abstract: An algorithm in which fractal codes of color images is made to extract characteristic in fractal domains is proposed in this paper, and it has been used in the content based image retrieval. The algorithm makes good use of color information, effectively resollves ignoring the color information and slow velocity problems in the traditional fractal method, it is adapted for image retrieval better. Experiments showed that the proposed algorithm is fast, feasible, and valid.
