Abstract: The characteristic and influencing factors of low concentration Pb2+ adsorption onto the immobilized bacteria from the activated sludge in the sewage treatment plant was studied. The results show that the adsorptionprocess of Pb2+ onto the immobilized bacteria was a dynamic process, and achieved the equilibrium state whthin 180 min. With the increase of the Pb2+ concentration, the number of the immobilized bacteria was positively related with the adsorptive capacity. The highest uptake capacity was obtained at an initial pH value of 6 and an intensity value of0.01 mol/L. The environmental temperatures influence on the adsorptive capacity of Pb2+ included two steps. The adsorption rate showed an increasing trend with the quality of the adsorbent raised, but the adsorptive capacity of Pb2+ by unit mass showed a descending trend. The concomitant Cd2+reduced the adsorptive capacity of the immobilized bacteria for Pb2+.
