Abstract: We established a Dengue fever transmission model that considered spatial heterogeneity and the advective effect of wind by using the theories of monotonic homogeneity and  chain transitive sets. The results  show that the basic reproduction number R0 determines the global threshold dynamics of the model: when R0≤1, the disease goes extinct;  when R0, the disease persists. Numerical analysis results show  that R0 varies non-monotonically with the advection rate, and  increasing the density of alternative hosts is helpful for disease prevention and control.
