Design of Multi-purpose Charger with Battery Capacity Detecting

Abstract:

The charger on the mainstream market can not detect the capacity of the battery,they can not automatically poweroff after fully charged. In order to resolve this problem,we design a charger with the function of overheating protection,using MSP430 single chip as the core controller, DS1302 chip as the external clock.Experiments show that this charger can conduct with Liion battery,Ni-Ge  battery both charge and discharge.It can offer two capacity detecting methods.The testing error is less than 5% when using the traditional way,and the error is bigger when using the fast detecting model due to its time saving.
