New SNR estimation method to 1/ƒ fractal signal

Abstract: On the basis of the fit for autocorrelation function,a new SNR estimation approach for 1/ƒ fractal signal was proposed.The total delay time could be determined through the time of mutual information curve of the signal with noise getting to the maximum in the first quadrant.Simulation results show that this method is simple,reliable,practicable,and effective without awareness of fractal signal parameters and a priori knowledge of added white noise,which means it is suitable in most situations.
