Detection of conical thread with digital image processing technology

Abstract: A contactless detection system for the conical thread with the digital imaging processing technology was presented. The system used image manipulation method to measure geometrical parameters, including binary image production, edge detection, contour hunting and the thread geometrical parameter calculation. Sizes of a conical thread detected by suggected method were given, and the feasibility and correctness of the method were validated theoretically and practically.
