CO2 capture automotive engine system based on internal combustion ranking cycle

Abstract:

This paper investigates the thermal efficiency of Internal Combustion Ranking Cycle (ICRC) by simulation. The operating cost of the use of ICRC in large public transport bus is also evaluated. Results show that the thermal efficiency of ICRC can be achieved as high as 55.6%, and the operating cost of ICRC is reduced by 6% in comparison with conventional diesel engine. The ICRC engine has potential future market because of its excellent emission performance accompanying with affordable CO2 capturing technology.
