Reliability evaluation of numerically -controlled machine tool
based on extenics theory

Abstract:

A matter-element model was built for the reliability evaluation of the numerically-controlled(NC) machine tool using the matter-element theory and the extendible set theory of the extenics. Introducing the relevance function in the extendible set theory to calculate the relevance degree, combining the analytic hierarchy process to define the weights of indexes, and the reliability grade of the NC machine tool to be evaluated can be obtained. Taking two types of home-made NC machine tools as examples to do the practical application study of the proposed method, the results show that the method possesses good practicability, can give the reasonable evaluation on the reliability of the NC machine tool.
