Braking energy regenerative efficiency of hydraulic hybrid vehicle

Abstract:

A new design concept was proposed to build a hydraulic hybrid vehicle(HHV) using a hydraulic transformer(HT). A mathematical model was established for HHV based on its working principle, and the relationships between the characteristic parameters of the accumulator(effective volume, specific energy, and chargedischarge efficiencies)and the port plate control angle of HT were analyzed. The energy regenerations of directly applied accumulator and indirectly applied accumulator through HT under different constant braking torque operating conditions were simulated, and the energysaving parameters at different pressure ratios were obtained.
