Secondary voltage simulation algorithm for automotive ignition system

Abstract:

To enhance the accuracy and efficiency in the product design of the automotive ignition coil, a simulation algorithm was proposed based on the electromagnetic analysis to calculate the secondary voltage of the coil. According to the working principle of the ignition system, the functions of the ignition module and the ignition coil were simulated to establish the electrical calculation model for the secondary voltage. The magnetic structure of the ignition coil was analyzed, using the coil turn the wire diameter and the iron core length as input parameters, a calculation model was built for the technological and structural parameters to reduce the calculation error caused by the impact of the nonlinearity of parameters and magnetic factors. The simulated results are in good agreement with the experimental ones, showing the validity and practicability of the modeling algorithm.
