Human face feature points detection method based on YUV color space

Abstract:

To realize the accurate detection of facial features,a YUV color space and difference projection theory combined method was presented.The histogram curve fitting method was used to identify the location of the face;in the YUV color space,lip regions was got from the projection of images according to its red chrominance;vertical and horizontal difference projection theory was carried out to detect the eye regions and it was the foundation of facial expression recognition.Experimental results show that the method presented could realize the feature detection effectively,regardless of light changes.They also show that the algorithm is of high precision,robust and easy to use.
