Time-multiplex auto-stereoscopic 3D display with low crosstalk and full resolution

Abstract:

The method based on backlight parallax barrier was proposed to reduce crosstalk and provide 3D image display with full resolution.The proposed display consisted of a backlight parallax barrier and a 2D display panel.The backlight parallax barrier was an OLED panel.By lighting pixels in particular areas,the OLED panel was easy to adjust the width and location of the transparent stripes in parallax barrier.Synthetic images from 2D display panel were modulated by the backlight parallax barrier,and displayed 3D images.The principle and parameter calculation were described.A prototype of the proposed display was developed.It shows that by adjusting the width and location of the transparent stripes in parallax barrier,we can reduce crosstalk.And the time-multiplex technology is helpful for full resolution display.
