Queue length estimation for signalized intersections based on multi-source data

Abstract: In order to accurately evaluate the traffic condition, based on the classical model combined with multi-source traffic detection data, a new queue length estimation method for signalized intersections was proposed. The data measured in an intersection in downtown Shanghai were used to verify the proposed method. The accuracy and effectiveness of this method under different conditions were analyzed. Results show that the accuracy of proposed queue length estimation method for signalized intersection is higher than classical model, and it is workable.
