Vehicle fuel consumption model based on urban road operations

Abstract:

    Real time fuel consumption was experimentized in different urban roads and time of the city of Changchun by using the car fuel consumption real time testing system which was built for this research. The average fuel consumption model based on velocity during peak and flat period, the fuel consumption model which was based on velocity on different types of roads and the instantaneous fuel consumption model based on different velocity and acceleration were set up according to the experimental results. At last, the corresponding fuel consumption models were validated through other experiments. The results showed that the models can reflect the fuel consumption change of vehicle on the urban roads and provide an efficient way for accurately forecasting the states of vehicle fuel consumption on the different urban roads.
