Front collision warning algorithm for curved highway

According to the hypothesis of driver steady preview and transient correction, an algorithm for the lateral and longitudinal acceleration preview was brought forward to predict the vehicle position in the near future. Meanwhile an algorithm for the virtual road regression was suggested to simulate the road boundary in the front. The relative positions of the barrier before the vehicle were discriminated by the socalled barrier radial cheek algorithm. A front collision warning algorithm for the curved highway was established depending only upon the radar as the sensor for the front road circumstances. The simulation results show that the suggested algorithms can give out the warning information in advance on the curved highway under dangerous conditions.

Application of virtual instrument in wake measurement of road vehicle

In order to measure the velocity distribution in the wake of a driving vehicle to clarify the wake structure, considering the shortcomings of the traditional test instruments including their function singularity, tedious development, high price, and difficult maintenance and update, the concept of virtual instrument was introduced, and a virtual instrument system was developed based on hotwire anemometer to measure the wake velocity distribution of the road vehicles in the automotive wind tunnel by means of visual programming through LabVIEW software, a product of National Instrument Company, USA. With this system, being without the deficiencies of the traditional instruments in the aspects of development, maintenance and update, experiments were made to gain the wake velocity distribution behind a certain car made in China, and the results are in accordance with those of the numerical simulation and the former experimental research, validating the virtual instrument system.

CVT control strategies for engine brake on long downhill of vehicle

A simulation testbed for the engine brake when the vehicle coasts on lasting downhill was built, and the engine brake torque curve was obtained by the test on the testbed. A twomass inertial model was established for the transmission system for the condition of vehicle lasting downhill. The simulation was performed using MATLAB/SIMULINK to study the CVT control strategies when the engine brakes on long downhill of the vehicle and the encouraging results were achieved.

Performance evaluation of electric vehicle power battery

The performance evaluation system of power battery was developed and the following evaluation parameters were suggested: state of energy CSOE to signify the energy state of battery, relative voltage dropping rate ηVDR, energy dropping factor ξ(E) and temperature rising rate ηTRR to signify the discharging characteristic. Also the battery cell consistency was discussed and relative voltage difference factor ξ(U) and relative internal resistance difference factor ξ(r) were used as evaluation parameters. Based on the experimental results, the battery evaluation system was explained, the reasonability and feasibility of the evaluation system and parameters were verified.

Bi-level programming model for optimizing bus frequencies and its algorithm

Aiming at minimizing the total cost of the bus operation system as the optimization objective, considering the route choice behaviors of the travelers, a bilevel programming model for optimizing the bus frequencies was presented. In the model, the upperlevel optimizes the bus frequencies from the result of passenger assignment, and the lowerlevel assigns the bus travelers based on the optimal frequencies. An iterative algorithm integrating a labelmarking method and a new heuristic algorithmshuffled complex evolution method(SCEUA) was designed to solve the lower and upper models. Taking Dalian city bus system as an example, the model and algorithms were tested against the system data, and the results show that the presented model and algorithms are reasonable and effective.

Heat transfer characteristics of mini flat heat pipe

The heat transfer characteristics of mini flat heat pipes with acetone, ethanol and water as the working fluid and their filling rate 20%~90% were studied. The wall temperatures of the vaporization and condensation sections of the heat pipe and the air temperatures at the inlet and outlet of the heating and cooling air ducts were measured. The heat transfer capability and the heat transfer coefficient were calculated. The effects of the different working fluids and their filling rates, and the density of the heat flux on the heat transfer coefficient of the heat pipe were summarized from the experiment results. It was found that the flat heat pipe demonstrates the best performance when ethanol is used as its working fluid, its heat transfer limit is qmax=16~17 kW/m2 with the optimal filling rate of 50%. A comprehensive empirical correlation for the average heat transfer coefficient of the studied heat pipe was derived from the experiments. The achieved results are referential for the engineering design of the mini flat heat pipes.

Novel piezoelectric precision step rotary actuator

A novel piezoelectric(PZT) precision step rotary actuator was developed based on the PZT technology. It adopts the principle of bionics and works with a inside anchoring/loosening of the stator and a distortion structure of the uniformly distributed thin flexible hinge to solve the problems such as ineffective anchoring/loosening, low step rotary frequency, small travel, poor resolution, low speed and unsteady output, etc. The developed actuator is characterized by high frequency(30 Hz), high speed (380 μrad /s), large travel (>270°), good resolution (1 μrad/step) and work stability. It improves significantly the drivability of the existing PZT step rotary actuator, can be applied in the field of micromanipulation and precision engineering, such as precision driving and positioning, optics engineering, etc.

A novel servovalve directly driven by piezoelectric ceramics was introduced. The valve is characterized by broader frequency width and higher resolution than the traditional electromagnetic servovalve, simple mechanical structure, and strong antiinterference ability. The finite element method was used to analyze the structure characteristic of the flexible hinge. The static and dynamic characteristics of the piezoelectric stack were theoretically analyzed. The servovalve prototype directly driven by piezoelectric stack was fabricated, and its static and dynamic characteristics were tested. The testing results show that the servovalve meets the demands of the high speed precise control system.

Bilateral control scheme of masterslave telerobotic system with telepresence

To realize the transparency of bilateral control scheme of the masterslave telerobotic system, a test system of one degree of freedom masterslave telerobotic system with telepresence was built up by applying two electrohydraulic proportional valves to control the hydraulic cylinder. Three control schemes, i.e. force feedback servo type, parallel type and improved parallel type were suggested in the bilateral control of force and motion. The experiments on the position tracking and the position tracking behaviors were conducted under conditions of no load, elastic load with small stiffness as well as hard load with large stiffness respectively. Results show that there are time delay of the motion tracking as well as force vibration in the main hand for the force feedback and parallel control schemes and the improved parallel control scheme, comparing with the others, is charaterized by good transparency under both the elastic and hard load conditions.

The system integrates the data management and the remote expert diagnosis, and can be regarded as the frontline subsystem of enterprise plant management information system, providing timely for the plant management section the insitu equipments operation condition informations and corresponding maintenance strategies.Its feasibility and efficiency of the proposed system have been demonstrated by its practical application in a certain power plant in Tianjin, China.

A polymer micro hot embossing process was characterized by the experiments and numerical simulations. A series of experiments were carried out with varied process conditions, including processing pressure, temperature, time, different materials and unload temperature, both the depth and width of hotembossed microchannel was investigated. Furthermore, the hotembossing process was numerically simulated by the finite element method using a viscoelastic model to understand its mechanism. The simulation results show in satisfactory agreement with the related experiments, being significant for improvement of the basic theories and the practical techniques of the structure design and manufacture of the polymer microfluidic chips.

Based on the analyses of the working mechanism and the movement behavior of the combine harvester vibration sieve, a model for the vibration sieve was built using the software ADAMS, and its dynamic simulation and parameter optimization were performed. The simulation results show that the structure parameters and the movement parameters of the vibration sieve before optimization are satisfactory for grain cleaning, but the vertical vibration amplitude of the sieve backend is quite large to obstacle the grain separation. The optimized sieve parameters reduce the vertical amplitude of the sieve backend, making the grains go easily through the sieve pores to be separated, and consequently help to reduce the grain loss rate and impurity rate.

The method and flow chart of the selfadaptive virtual design of Autodesk Inventor were introduced. The virtual assemblage of a rim (22.5×9.00) and a tubeless radial tire (12R22.5) were created by Autodesk Inventor, and the insertion model was designed based on the virtual assemblage of the rim and tire through inplace designing, the interference checkout, the presentation views, and the engineering drawings were associatively created and the consistent data were ensured among them during designanalysisredesign cycles. The series of insertion based on 15°DC and radial tire were designed through linking the Excel parameters of rim and tire to the virtual assemblage model, the method can be used as a reference to other runflat tire insertion design.

EVA/nanoTiO2 composites of directdispersed, onestep and twostep were prepared by meltblending.The preparation and mechanical properties of nanoTiO2/EVA composites were investigated.The dispersibility of nanoTiO2 in EVA matrix was characterized by FESEM and FTIR.It was found that if vinyltriethoxysilane was mixed directly with the EVA matrix and the dispersedphase nanoTiO2 as a constituent, the nanoparticles dispersed in the matrix easier.In the blends, a good cooperation effect of nanoTiO2 and vinyltriethoxysilane on the toughness of EVA were obtained, and the nanoTiO2 also improved the strength. Improvement of mechanical properties of the blends was optimum,when the content of nanoTiO2 was 1%.Furthermore, it was found that nanoTiO2 particles with size of less than 100 nm dispersed in EVA matrix, linked with the vinyltriethoxysilane and the EVA through chemical bond.

To understand the phase transition temperature of nanoAl2O3 particles by the action of ball milling, the highenergy ball milling was employed on the nanoAl2O3 particles with different times, then the particles were annealed at different temperatures. The structure, component and phase transition temperature of nanoAl2O3 particles were investigated using XRD, TEM, FTIR and DTA. The results show that the phase transition temperature of nanoAl2O3 powders decreases with the milling time increasing. When the milling time reaches 50 h, the phase transition temperatures form γAl2O3 to θAl2O3 and from θAl2O3 to αAl2O3 decrease about 100 ℃, respectively. Ball milling induced partial crystallinereconstruction and high density of lattice defects, resulting in change of phase transition temperature.

The effect of ball crown height and row interval of stainless steel 1Cr18Ni9Ti surface on surface wettability has been studied. The experiment results show that the ball crown lattices increase the apparent contact area between the water droplet and the surface leading to the decreasing of apparent contact angle up to 28.5%, and the surface hydrophilicity is ameliorated.

To save the investment in equipment and resolve the large sheet metal forming, on the basis of analying the processing technology of sectional multipoint forming, finite element softwareABAQUS was introduced to simulate successfully the sectional multipoint forming. The key of the sectional multipoint forming—the forming surface of transition area was designed by the nonuniform rational Bspline surface(NURBS) through the 3dimensional software CATIA. The wave surface defect was restrained with the harmonizing designing the forming surface of transition area, therefore, the forming quality improved.

The formation mechanism of cellular gas bubbles inside the gasmelt interface on the gas channel wall for a gasassisted injection molding(GAIM) part was studied. In the process of GAIM, the highpressure gas such as N2 comes to a supercritical state, diffusing into the polymer melt. After unloading the pressure, the N2 in the polymer melt reaches a supersaturation state. The supersaturated N2 close to the gasmelt interface diffuses through it, and the N2 close to the internal wall delays to diffuse and remains in the polymer melt to form the cellular bubble blemish gradually. Based on this mechanism, optimization of molding process conditions to reduce the gas bubble blemish was proposed.

A preview kinematics model of the vehicle was established, a switching hyperplane was designed by the optimal control theory, and adopting the sliding variable structure controller, a navigation control of the curve trace tracking of the intelligent vehicle was realized when the change of the curve trace curvature is little. When the change of the curve trace curvature is much, the navigation path is tracked quickly and steadily according to the output of a fuzzy controller. Combined with the present state and the quickest dynamic response capability of the vehicle steering system, a variable structure control output set of the intelligent vehicle curve trace tracking was built. The simulation and experiment verified the steadiness and robustness of the suggested fusion control algorithm in the intelligent vehicle curve trace tracking process.

To improve dot position accuracy and image quality, a PWM control system with raster feedback on the basis of digital PID was developed. The whole control system was composed in one singlechip computer and a Hbridge LMD18200. The synchronization control was realized by introducing row optical scan and column torque DC motor driven system. This system is of simple in structure, and control parameters are all determined by software and easily adjusted. The experiment of selfevaluation shows that the synchronization accuracy can attain ±20 μm compared to ±50 μm of the openloop step motor driven system.

By using switched LyapunovKrasovskii function and Finsler′s Lemma, a new robust asymptotical stable condition for a class of uncertain discretetime switched systems with timedelay was presented. And this condition was also turned into a feasibility problem with a set of linear matrix inequalities (LMIs), which can offer extra freedom degree for stability analysis and controller design. A numerical example demonstrates the effect of the proposed method.

For the PID controlled servo systems, the PID controller design was transformed to the partial state feedback problem, then by using linear matrix inequality (LMI) and bilinear matrix inequality (BMI), a stabilization criterion of PID controller, maximum attenuation degree for the systems stabilized by PID, maximum degree consistent with the given steadystate output covariance, steady error coefficients, and controller gain constrains. The proposed algorithm for the solution of attenuation degree agreed with the given performance was presented and the validity of the algorithm was proved with the illustrated examples.

The concept of health degree was defined, which is used as a quantitative index for evaluation of the health condition of liquid hydrogen supplying system. The method of fuzzy data fusion was used to calculate the health degree. In this method the weight of each monitoring sensor was calculated by AHP (Analytic Hierarchy Process), then, the multisensor data were fused by the fuzzy comprehensive evaluation method, next, the sequence data were fused by two grade index evaluation, finally, the comprehensive health degree of the supplying system and the health degree of each monitoring factor were calculated by defuzzification method. Base on these, the health condition evaluation system of the liquid hydrogen supplying system of a rocket engine testing platform was set up. Experiments show that this evaluation system can be applied to evaluate the health condition of the liquid hydrogen supplying system properly and quantitatively.

The cantilever structure characteristics and the Bragg wavelength shift principle were analyzed, and the cantilever with different strain sensitivity on different part were designed. Then a novel plan to increase the sensitivity was proposed in view of the wavelength difference among various region, thus both the sensitivity is doubled and the cross sensitivity is solved. The strain measurement error caused by temperature is eliminated, and the single parameter measurement of strain has been realized.

The traditional MUSIC algorithm requires the covariance matrix and its eigendecomposition or singular value decomposition that result in the increase of the computational complexity. To overcome such problem, a method for source parameter estimation in the environments of farfield and nearfield was proposed based on multistage Wiener filters. It can replace the computation and decomposition of the covariance matrix under certain conditions. It has less computational complexity, which is particularly significant in the situation of more numbers of arrays and snapshots. The proposed method is validated by case studies.

A new adaptive recursive algorithm for eigenvector estimation based on the relations between KLT and sliding DCT was presented. On the basis of the equivalence of weight vector of an adaptive filter and the eigenvector, choosing a reasonable filter expectation response, the eigenvector was estimated. Compared with current eigenvector calculation methods such as SVD, the proposed algorithm can effectively reduce both amount of calculation and complexity, be easily implemented on time, and possesses high estimation accuracy. Applying this algorithm in spectrum estimation with computer simulations, it is known that the proposed recursive eigenvector estimation algorithm attains higher spectrum estimation solution comparing with standard MUSIC spectrum estimation method with less calculation, which proves the effectiveness and advantage of the algorithm.

Base on the description of general cell(GC), a demonstration system was developed with the volume of onboard electric system in 200 mm×28 mm×138 mm and dry mass 640 g. This demonstration system integrated onboard computer, attitude control system, and a communication subsystem in a black box called information processing unit(IPU). In the unit star sensor, sun sensor, magnetic meter, gyro and GPS receiver were connected by CAN bus and the whole system weighted less then 5.5 kg. In the same time the related spacecraft test bed includes ground station and actuators(reactive wheel and magnetictorque rod) and can realize autonomous attitude control.

A new method for construction of multiwavelet filter coefficients matrix using orthonormal expansion technique was proposed. By introducing 2order balance algorithm to construct a prefilter, two twoscale orthonormal multiwavelets were given. The decomposition of Lena image using GHM, CL multiwavelet and the proposed wavelets was conducted respectively. Simulation results show that this new method can reach higher energy accumulation in LL11 layer for 97.90%, is superior to those of GHM and CL multiwavelet.

A digital watermarking algorithm for halftone (binary) images was proposed. Using visual masking and luminance adaptation characteristics in human eyes, the watermark was embedded in highlight textured areas, and watermark security was improved with encrypt and scrambling techniques. Bit convolution was defined and an rbit filter was constructed in order to help watermark embedding and extraction. Experiments show that the proposed method has a better watermark imperceptibility compared to traditional halftone watermarking algorithms. Furthermore, when watermarked halftone is attacked by cropping, noise, JPEG compression, or random marking, watermarking can still be correctly extracted.

Time history curve of turbulent component of wind was numerically simulated by the sum of cosine waves according to their Kaimal power spectrum. The calculation method for dynamic stochasticwind load was set up for largediameter antenna structure. Taking a 40 m diameter antenna as an example, finite element method was applied to calculate transient displacement response under along stochasticwind load case. Then electric performances response by using these calculation results, and the features of electric performances response in alongstochasticwind loading for largediameter antenna structure were obtaiaed.

A BDHRED(RED with Based on Drop History)algorithm was proposed to identify highbandwidth flows in times of congestion. The algorithm will keep these flows state if some flows happen to drop packets, based on the method which packet drop number from a flow is roughly proportional to this connection arrival rate. The algorithm computes drop number in packet drop history in the routers, uses combined drop ratio, and efficiently identifies highbandwidth flows in the coexistence environment between the normal TCP flows and highbandwidth flows. By the comparison of existed drop ratio and combined drop ratio, the simulations valid that BDHRED can efficiently identify highbandwidth flows.

In order to solve the problem that the degree of balance function can only indicate the binary sequence balance, a maximum balance difference function of the sequence for the consideration of multivalue sequences was proposed. The analysis for the relationship between the balance of quadricphase oversampled chaotic map(OSCM) sequence and sequence length and oversampled parameter p was given by using this function. Both simulation results and the analysis show that through optical selection the good balanced performance OSCM sequence can be obtained and it could be used as one of the spreading spectrum sequence candidates for 3G mobile communication CDMA systems.

Ant colony algorithm (ACA) is easy to fall in local best, and its convergent speed is slow in solving largescale optimization problems. On the basis of introduction of basic ant colony algorithm and cloud model theory, a novel qualitative strategy for improving the global optimization properties by use of cloud models is presented in this paper. Then, for the purpose of enhancing global convergent performance of basic ant colony algorithm, the basic ant colony algorithm is improved by using elitist preservation strategy, meeting search strategy, pheromone adaptive control strategy and natural niche ideology. Meanwhile, in order to avoid stagnation of the search, the range of possible pheromone trails on each solution component is limited to a maximumminimum interval. The feasibility and effectiveness of the proposed ant colony algorithm are validated by series of computational experiments.

After the discussion of the shortcomings of traditional vehicle structure concept design methods, an intelligent tool named IVCD based on NX was implemented. Template method was used in IVCD system to quickly and easily build vehicle body concept geometry model and FEM model. This IVCD can integrate body design, analysis and optimization on one CAD platform through parametric variable database and all parametric variables were shared and updated in different phase of IVCD. A knowledge based wizard UI was used to make user manipulation easier. The procedure of implementation and IVCD system function diagram were provided and an example shows the reliability and validity of this tool.

A migrating workflow navigation model was defined based on the service type classification provided by the anchorage server, the previous service entity list structure of anchorage server was expanded, and the task execution process of migrating instances was described in detail. The book purchase example showed that the navigation mechanism could overcome the disadvantage of traditional workflow systems in which the entire knowledge of a business process is needed before workflow execution, and it fits very well into the interorganization workflow services.

To understand the mechanical property of the fiber plasterboard filled with reinforced concrete(rapid wall), according to the material characteristic and the idea of microand macromodel, a macromodel based on the idea of fiber model was presented, and was applied to analyze nonlinear characteristic of composite wall. The macromodel is composed of macro fiber element that only resist axis force and moment, and macro shear element that only resist shear force. Stiffness matrix of the model and element stiffness was developed.The elastoplastic pushover was carried out to the four fiber plasterboard filled with reinforced concrete with the macromodel. The computational results are nearly equal to those obtained by experiments, and show that the model has relatively high accuracy and the calculation is simple.
