Abstract: The NMR spectra were used for elucidating the structure of nateglinide , N-[(trans-4-isopropylcyclohexyl)-carbonyl]-D-phenylalanine, which is used as an oral hypoglycemic drug. By means of DEPT,1H-1H CO SY and 13C-1H HETCOR techni ques, the proton and13C spectra of nateglinide were assigned co mpletely.

Key words: nateglinide, NMR, chemical structure elucidation
