Abstract: With the contents of aesculin and aesculetin as the technical specificat ions, three microwave-assisted extraction(MAE) procedures were studied. The f irst procedure is household microwave oven dynamic extraction. The second proced ure is microwave resonant cavity dynamic extraction. The third procedure is spec ial microwave oven extraction. The results obtained by the three microwave-assi sted extraction procedures were compared with those obtained by using the tradit ion al Soxhlet extraction. And at the same time the results obtained by the three pr o cedures of MAE were also compared with each other. The results indicate that the MAE not only takes a shorter time, but also makes a higher yield of the extract ion.
Key words: microwave-assisted extraction, aesculin, aesculetin, Soxhlet extraction
