Abstract: The high performance liquid chromatographic method was employed for determining the acetic acid (AC) in furfural waste water on a symmetry 5 μm C18 (4.6 mm×150 mm) column with 0.002 0 mol /L HSO4 as the mobile phase at a flow rate of 1.0 m L/min. The detection was made on a UV detector at 210 nm with external standard calibration. The liner operating range of the method is 0.040 0[KG-*4]~0.400 0 g/L(r=0.999 8) with a r elative standard division (RSD) of 0.536%(n=6). The average standard addition recovery of the wastewater samples is 105.5%[KG-*4]~115.7%.
