Abstract: In this paper, 5，10，15，20-tetra(4-carboxylphenyl)porphyrin(TCP P) was synthesized first, then a kind of new star-shaped polymer was synthesized successfully with TCPP as the core and poly(butyl acrylate)(P BA) obtained by atom transfer radical polymerization(ATRP) as the arms. The char acteristic ultraviolet absorption peak shows the difference between Soret band a nd Q bands of TCPP and the new star-shaped polymer and it can also be conclu ded that the molecular weight and polydispersity of the star-shaped polymer were controlled perfectly from the GPC spectrum.
