Synthesis of a New Antiaids Drug Delavirdine Mesylate

Abstract: Delavirdine mesylate was synthesized with CDI acting as condensation agent from the reaction of nicotinamide, p-nitrophenylhydrazine and ethyl pyruvate. Delavirdine mesylate was obtained at a total yield of 6.6%. The structures of the target molecule and the key intermediates were confirmed by IR, 1H NMR, 13C NMR, MS, and element analysis.
