Abstract: We collected several most useful perfectly matched layer methods, and then set up a unified formulation by using the electromagnetic equations in anisotropic medium. We only just consider the unified formulation when discussing the wellposeness of perfectly matched layer equations, without elabrating each special case respectively. The formulation brings a great convenience to the theoretical study and computation of perfectly matched layer methods.
