Abstract: A rutile (TiO2) single crystal was prepared via floating zone grower with natural anatate (TiO2) powder as starting material. It was characterized by X-ray diffraction (XRD) and Raman scattering. The four characteristic Raman peaks (143,446,605,826 cm-1) verify that the as-grown crystal has a typical rutile phase. Some other peaks such as 235,273,316,327,519,700 cm-1 were simultaneously observed.
