Abstract: The loaded resin containing chelating group was prepared with chromotrope-2R as chelating agent,D296 strongly basic anion exchange resin as carrier and the structure of the CT-2R loaded resin was proved by means of infrared (IR) spectra. The adsorption properties of loaded resin and optimum conditions for the separation and preconcentration of Au (Ⅲ) and Pd (Ⅱ) were studied. The results show that chlorocomplex anion of Au and Pd in pH=1.0 HCl solution can be adsorbed on CT2R loaded resin and separated from many other base metals. Au and Pd on the resin were eluted with 0.1 mol/L HCl40 g/L thiourea solution at a flow rate of 0.5 mL/min. The resin is retreated and reused easily. The standard samples determined by atomic absorption spectrometry, the relative standard deviations (n=6) of Au and Pd are 5.72% and 7.89%, respectively.
