Abstract: The methods were presented for measuring and analysising laser energy density distribution. First, the spot images were detected and lo cated. Then wavefront was fitted based on Zernike polynomial. Finally, 3D-pseudocolor visualization algorithm was used for 2D-laser spot images. Experimental results indicate that the Zernike polynomial fitting realized wavefront detection and reconstruction. The method of fitting sample points selection was studied based on the least average error of laser energy intensity testing precision. The visualizationmethod reflected the relative sizes and positions of laser spot energy distribution in different areas. The testing system fully satisfied the demand of laser energy intensity measurement.
