Abstract: The authors demonstrate that hexagonal nanodisks of Cd(OH)₂ could be fabricated by a facile hydrothermal treatment. The product obtained showed a good crystallization and regular shape. The compositions and morphologies of the samples were characterized by XRD, SEM, TEM and SEAD. The effects of experimental conditions such as temperature and mineralizer on the structure and morphology of the product were investigated in detail. Furthermore, possible formation mechanism was discussed.
