Abstract:

The authors  discussed the mathematical description of electromagnetic scattering problems of the diffraction grating in the homogeneous medium. With the help of the cylindrical coordinates and artificial boundary conditions introduced, the authors showed that  the mathematical description of diffraction grating scat
tering problem was feasible, and gave the variational problem equivalent to the scattering problem.
