Abstract: A porous modified graphitelike phase carbon nitride (pg-C3N4) material was prepared by a high temperature condensation polymerization method using melamine hydrochloride as a precursor. The CdS nanohollow microspheres were prepared by a hydrothermal method, and the pg-C3N4 and CdS were effectively combined by deposition method to prepare pg-C3N4/CdS composite photocatalyst. The samples were characterized by Xray diffraction (XRD), transmission electron microscopy (TEM), Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy (FTIR), ultravioletvisible spectroscopy (UVVis), fluorescence spectrum and electrochemical impedance spectroscopy. The photocatalytic activity was evaluated by the photocatalytic degradation of dye Rhodamine B (RhB) under the visible light, and the mechanism of photocatalytic degradation of RhB was given. The results show that the porous modification of graphitelike phase carbon nitride (g-C3N4) is beneficial to the formation of intimate interface between pg-C3N4 with CdS, and then it promotes the separation and transmission of photogenerated electronhole of pg-C3N4/CdS, and effectively improves its photocatalytic activity and stability.
