An Image Fusion Method Based on CurveletTransform and Guided Filter Enhancement

Abstract: Aiming at the problem that the image fusion effect of visible image was poor due to the influence of light and weather, we 
proposed a fusion method of infrared and visible image enhancement based on curvelet transform. Firstly, guided filter was used to enhance the details of visible image. Secondly, the enhanced visible and infrared images were decomposed respectively by using curvelet transform, and the maximum coefficients were taken for the lowfrequency part, the absolute values and the corresponding pixel maximum values in the square neighborhood window were used for the fusion image values for the highfrequency part. Finally, the fusion result was obtained by using inverse transform of curvelet transform. The experimental results show that the proposed method has good effect in detail processing, edge protection and source image information.
